There have long been hotels and restaurants on the site where Tuttons now stands. In the 1700’s it was Hummums Baths and Hotel and stood in a fine colonnaded building which was also mirrored by colonnades to the North. Sadly this succumbed to fire and was eventually rebuilt around 1886 as Hummums Hotel and Rockleys Bar.
This hotel and bar failed in the great depression of the 1930’s and eventually was converted for use as a fruit and vegetable warehouse advantageous given its proximity to Covent Garden Market.
When the market was redeveloped in 1974 it was opened by London restauranteur Chris Tutton and has born his name ever since.
At Tuttons today we seek to maintain the heritage of Covent Garden Market and provide the freshest and finest food in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
